Polar Bear – Shadows on the Ice

1998 Holding Slide.png image

This film examines the polar bear, one of nature's most graceful creatures, and one of the world's fiercest predators. The polar bear has adapted perfectly to its Arctic environment, allowing it to hunt its prey, the ringed seal, with ease. In addition to the bear’s hunting behaviour the film highlights their social behaviour, and focuses on the parallel stories of other animals, including the ivory gull and the Arctic fox with trail the bears in the hope of scavenging their scraps.
